Etching pcbs

#2
Does anyone know if there is a place that will etch PCBs in a low quantity for these 555 timer or similar projects?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi Dan,

First I want to welcome you to our forum! I am sure you will find this a helpful site with a lot of people that have a great deal of Electronic Expertise and are very friendly.

Here are a few ideas for your question.

Board House - Here is what I found to be the least expensive board house in the U.S. but there might be better ones someone else can post. I have never used these guys or any board house yet myself so I am just going off reviews and web site information. If you are a student you can get the $30 special, but look around the site for other options. http://store.bayareacircuits.com/student-special/

Board House - Here is another that will do a 2 layer for $33 http://www.4pcb.com/33-each-pcbs/

Stencil Maker - If you are going to be doing any surface mount work here is a place that makes stencils for $5, you can't beat that price! They are made of Polyimide and they say it will last for up to 300 uses. The $5 price is based on sq inches but even large ones do not cost much at this place. It is worth a look. http://www.oshstencils.com/

I hope this helps, you can always just search for Board Houses in your area as there are many of them. You can also just make your own if you want to give that a try. Search YouTube for "Etch PCB Board at Home" or something like that and you will find many different ways to do it, some easy and some not so easy.

Good Luck,

George

Hi George,

Thanks for the welcome and information! I will follow up on your sites; I only do low volume so may end up still etching the boards myself. I'm not sure I want to go there, but some off-shore places are really cheap, but may not be very good.

Thanks again for your help!
