555, Traffic Lights Circuit Help!

Hi, our professor gave us this schematic http://www.555-timer-circuits.com/traffic-lights.html to be our project. I've tried it on breadboard and I can't make it work. The green led turns on for about 8-9 seconds then the orange one for 2-3 seconds, after that the red led wont turn on. Any idea? Kinda need your help right now. Thanks in advanced

just change the value of the 2 capacitors (lower value gives faster intervals while higher value lenghtens the intervals, if i remembered it right there is a formula to know the interval of each light. Just search i on google.

maybe you have connected the intercting lines, it is not connected.

i have extended the yellow light for about 10-15 secs. just use a 9v battery as a supply not a rectified supply.

will this circuit work, with just the 555 timer only? and even without the
4017B IC
