    Fog horn circuit

Hi Justin, I did find this one and gave it a try... However I was not able to get it to work... Not sure what I am doing wrong on it... I'd also like to find one that would work off a 555 timer...

    Looking for a breadboard layout...

Hi George, It would be nice to have a second look at it... So if you get a chance at it I'd appreciate it...

    Fog horn circuit

Any know where I can find a circuit schematic for a realistic fog horn?

    Think I got it...

    Police Siren

Got it to work as shown with the two 555's and also with the 556... Inserted a 1k pot between the second capacitor and the speaker for volume control... Worked great...

    Police Siren

Is it possible to substitute a 556 chip for the two 555's?

    Looking for a breadboard layout...

It has been a long time since I read schematics and am having a hard time reading this one... Would anyone here be interested to give a go at putting this circuit on a breadboard layout for me? http://www.circuitstoday.com/flashing-led-unit

What to do with a motor?

Now that's funny!!! Seriously Justin you have put a lot of thought into this project and I can't wait to see how it turns out... As for the materials - George has the right idea about looking around for a local metals fabricater - more often than not they have a ton of scrap laying...

    12 volt power sources

Thanks guys... George I think I will go with the one you suggested... Looks like it is exactly what I am looking for... Again thanks for the help...

That would be exactly what you are looking for!!! Great find George...

    12 volt power sources

Hi George, Can you post a pic of the plug in DC power supply you are using? I would greatly appreciate it...

What to do with a motor?

Correct... You should be able to use the 1/8th chuck... Make sure it comes with a set screw (or two)... When you get it - test fit it... Mark the shaft where the set screw(s) fit and very carefully score the area - this will help the set screw seat properly... BTW that setup above looks great...

    Traffic Lights

I would have to do the math, but you are right - it is possible... :)

What to do with a motor?

If you are going to make a mini drill press out of this I would suggest using the 18 volt power supply and rigging yourself a potentiometer to make it variable speed... yes the part you are talking about is a "chuck" and you might be able to find one at Micro-Mark (www.micromark.com) or Harbor...

    Traffic Lights

Yes Justin, they do run through the pattern a bit fast... I can slow them down with the variable resistor I have in the circuit now... As is this circuit is built to have the green and red stay on for about the same length of time while the yellow is on for about a quarter of that time... Using...

    Flashing LED

Sweet... But I'm thinking a bit overkill for what Justin needs... :p Now if they ever come out with one of those that makes grilled cheese sandwiches, grills a perfect steak, press and fold my clothes all while building surface mounted boards I might get one... :D

    Problem with led flasher

Are you sure that the circuit can be used for LED's? Reason I ask is that it is possible that there is some residual current built up (left) in the inducers (L1 & L2)... This residual current may keep the LED's on for a while until their energy has completely dissipated...

    Traffic Lights

I did some playing around today with my new soldering iron (it has been many - many years since I did any soldering)... This is what I ended up with working on the Traffic Lights circuit...

    Laser Ray Sound

I was looking for the same thing Konrad and also got that "clicking" sound... I changed out 220k resistor for a 470k and also swapped the 10uf cap with a few others (went back to the 10 as the other made it sound worse)... Anyway here's what I got... (sorry for the sound quality - forgot to turn...
