Love this circuit. With a very bright light source (LED torch) it screams, (obviously). With the thing going full tilt try covering the orp 12 with various materials to give a brilliant variation in sound tone and intensity. Using the palm of your hand and fingers alternately to cover the orp 12 you can really have some fun.

Thanks! Here is a video. I recommend swapping out the 1K resistor with a 1K pot to help adjust the sensitivity.

My wife no longer allows me to play with anything that could make noise when it comes to electronic projects and just playing around.

It would but you'd have to modify the circuit so that it doesn't make a noise until it is brought into light. Or you can just modify it to make a sound when the circuit is opened or closed.
